Are you a lonely soul? Are you living a second honeymoon (or the first)? Have you formed a family, perhaps, numerous? Whatever your case may be, Mallorca adapts to your lifestyle and that of your surroundings. Here are a few clues so that traveling to Mallorca alone, as a couple or as a family does not involve any headaches.
Me, me and me!
It is proven that leisure alone does not have to be less entertaining than when we enjoy a plan with our loved ones; In fact, there are many reasons to start traveling alone. Take advantage of these holidays to give yourself the luxury of being with yourself and organize plans that fit your tastes 100%. What if you start walking through the centre of Palma and discover some of the wonderful courtyards that populate its labyrinthine streets? Throughout the walk you can stop for a coffee in mythical references of the city like Ca’n Joan de s’Aigo, Antiquari or La Molienda, and recover with the pleasure of reading a good book at one of its tables without anyone interrupting you.
Museums and galleries are also spaces where you cannot look at the clock, where you can go at your own pace and let yourself be guided along the path that your own steps trace without having to wait for that friend who stops at each of the tables. A calm visit to Es Baluard or the Royal Palace of the Almudaina will make you enjoy art in another way, with another cadence. Although, undoubtedly, if you want to dedicate a few hours to yourself nothing better than visiting a spa, something that you can only do if you travel alone or as a couple.
If you want to leave the city so that the disconnection with the mundane noise is total, take (or rent) a bike, either in the promenade version or in the mountain-bike version, choose one of the spectacular routes that the island offers you and start pedalling on your own in what is undoubtedly one of the best places in the world to be enjoyed on two wheels.
With your other half
Although one of the most romantic plans to do with your partner in Mallorca is to go on some of the routes through the vineyards of the island, the winner will be the island’s magnificent sunsets. Sa Foradada, Cap Formentor or Ses Covetes (in Es Trenc) are some of those magical places to enjoy the warmth of a good hug. And it is true that what we perceive through the sense of sight is always enhanced if you are in the company of your soul mate. Spectacular are also the views from the viewpoints of the island; from these lines we recommend the Ses Ánimes or Es Colomer. But if you really want to surprise your partner with something that stays fixed on your retina for life, choose a balloon trip for two. From the heights you will see the island from a bird’s-eye view and admire its beauty from a different perspective. And if you look closely, you can also see some of the coves where you can spend an unforgettably romantic afternoon.
Do we end up with a candlelit dinner? Fall in love again in one of these four gastronomic references of Palma, Sadrassana, Simply Fosh, Basmati and Quadrat; or in one of these four options outside the capital: Sebastián y el Olivo, in Deiá; Zaranda, in Es Capdellá; and Bens d’Avall, in Sóller. Top the night with some jazz notes, the most evocative genre that exists, in Jazz Voyeur Club or the Blue Jazz Club.
With the whole family
Mallorca may be the best of the Balearic Islands to enjoy as a family because of the endless leisure possibilities it offers. Water parks are the natural habitat of the smallest and Mallorca has some of the best in Spain; These is Western Water Park, Hidropark and Aqualand. Another option is to test the skill on the wheels of each member of the family in Karting Magaluf or in Karting Can Picafort, if you are in the north of the island; or maybe you can test the skill your children has with the swing in Golf Fantasía, a minigolf that stays open well into the night.
If the family’s favourite flag is the pirate one, in Pirates Adventure you will enjoy a real buccaneer feast and you will travel together to a time when pirates dominated the seven seas in an amazing night of entertainment. In fact, there are more than 3 million ‘cabin boys’ who have already enrolled in this fantastic boat. And from the sea to the jungle through the Safari-Zoo of Malllorca or the Zoo Natura Parc, where each of you can choose your favourite animal.
And if you dare with the ultimate excitement there is Escape Rooms suitable for children from 8 years (as long as they are accompanied by their parents). Their names, King of Scape, Mission Escape (with a room specially designed for children between 10 and 13 years old) and Best Escape Rooms.
Now you are the one who decides! Whether alone, as a couple or as a family, Mallorca is full of juicy plans that will adapt depending on who is travelling with you, at any given time.
