The island of Menorca is a privileged environment where nature, culture and gastronomy come together in an incomparable way; the closest thing to a paradise we can find in the Mediterranean Sea. You can enjoy this place in many ways and much better in good company. We propose an unbeatable formula to enjoy this island as a couple: Menorca for two.

The plan begins in the early dawn in Ciudadela to start the day well. The first thing is to get strength and energy with a good breakfast. For example, on the wide terrace of the Bar Imperi, in the Plaza del Born. It apparently serves one of the best chocolate coffees on the island; not to mention its ensaimadas and “tostas”, highlighting the ones with sobrasada and Mahon cheese.

Menorca for two_Cala Macarella

Once the victualling is done, there are two bays very close to Ciudadela that deserve a visit, walk and/or bath: Cala Turqueta and Cala Macarella. For many, they are the two best bays of Menorca. Cala Turqueta , hidden among pine trees, lives up to its name; by the turquoise colour of its waters and the whiteness of its sand, it is the closest thing to the Caribbean that we can find in Menorca. Cala Macarella adds coquettish cliffs of limestone, and it has one of the best beach bars on the island: Susy. There you can refuel with a glass of wine or a beer at noon, or -if you are hungry- a plate of freshly cooked octopus. Also very close, in Ferrerías, is Cala Galdana: one of the five beaches with blue flag of Menorca.

Menorca for two_Cala Morell

If you’ve gotten up early, maybe you’ll have time for an extra swim in Cala Morell, one of the most peculiar and spectacular beaches of Menorca. A bay without sand, nestled between cliffs and filled with rocks of extravagant shapes on which to sunbathe. In this bay, there are also two other chiringuitos that are well worth a visit: Troglodytes and Baristiu.

Menorca for two_Faro Faváritx

Before having lunch you can go to the Faro de Faváritx. The road crosses part of the Natural Park of Albufera des Grau, the most important of this biosphere reserve (Menorca): 5,000 hectares where you can see a large number of waterfowls and raptors. And it flows into the spectacular lunar landscape – almost desert, rugged cliffs and black slate – where the most famous of the lighthouses of Menorca is located.

Menorca for two_Fornells

Very close to this place, we found a village which is typically Mediterranean: Fornells. One of those places in the Balearic Islands that will leave you speechless for a romantic walk through streets full of white houses or contemplate the beautiful views from the Torre Fornells. And, of course, on this special day of Menorca for two, what’s better than eating right there, on the seafront of Fornells, in one of Menorca’s ideal restaurants to go with your partner: Es Port. Unbeatable place – the best of the island – to taste the typical lobster stew.

Menorca for two_Binibeca Vell

You could dedicate part of your afternoon to one the most beautiful villages of Menorca: Binibeca Vell, another beautiful seaside town. A delightful labyrinth of narrow, cobbled streets. Another beach in Menorca which has the blue flag is the small Binibeca Bou, which is barely 200 meters long and surrounded by a cool pine forest.

Menorca for two_Cueva de Xoroi

The sunset of this plan called “Menorca for two” must be enjoyed, without doubt, in Cala en Porter (another beach with blue flag); and, more specifically, in the “Cueva de Xoroi”. The viewpoints and terraces which are distributed at various heights dug into the cliff of this special luxury beach bar (day bar and nightclub) allow you to contemplate the perfect twilight: the best views of the island, with a drink in your hand and in unbeatable company.

Menorca for two_S'Amarador

And what better way to end the day than with a good dinner with your partner, after a day full of emotions. Return to Ciudadela to dine splendidly well in S’Amarador, one of the best kitchens in Menorca. Located in the port of the city, this restaurant has become a gastronomic reference of the island in recent times thanks to its rice dishes, local fish and seafood.

These are our recommendations for a perfect day in Menorca for two. We leave the matter of prolonging the night more or less – and the rest of the activities to be carried out – in your hands. It is clear that time and plans, on this privileged island, are enjoyed more than anywhere else.
